Have you ever experienced a situation where how you think is totally opposite with how you feel?
- You might think or know that you are good enough but for some reason, you do not feel that you are good enough.
- You might think or know what you are doing is right but for some reason, you do not feel that it is right.
- You might think or know that what you are doing is irrational but for some reason, you still feel that you have to do it.
These are situations where your conscious mind is in conflict with your subsconcious/conditioned mind
So let me ask you which one is the more powerful one? Is it the subconscious mind that dictates your behaviour or is it usually your conscious mind?
In my opinion, the subconscious mind is usually the more powerful one at any given point in time because it reacts before you can think. At times, you can react to something in a negative way and then think to yourself, "Oops, I shouldn't have done that", but then it is too late.
However, what I want to challenge you with, is the idea that it is actually the conscious mind, that has the power in the end. Why?
Because it has the ability to "reprogram" the subconscious mind.
In essence, when we teach someone to become more mindful and "observe" their thoughts and beliefs, and then work on accepting or challenging their belief systems, we are actually teaching them to "anchor" themselves in their conscious mind and then from this perspective, "reprogram" their subsconscious mind.
Food for thought....
